The New 3D Nintendo DS Video Game Console. Is it True that it Sickens People?
Will the new Nintendo DS video game console in 3-D sicken you if you play it for long enough? The 3DS, as the model is known, allows you to play 3-D video games and watch 3-D movies on its tiny screen, and you don't even have to wear glasses for the 3-D effect. Actually, it was the sensationalist British tabloid The Sun that first brought out reports of this - of how Nintendo fans in the UK were throwing up from the effects of the console and were running back to stores for a refund. So are you supposed to believe something like this that The Sun comes out with?
By all accounts, the new Nintendo DS video console is selling like crazy. Anyway, why would it just be the British who found the effects of the console unbearable? How about kids in America or elsewhere? Lots of people do report feeling a bit lightheaded and not entirely steady on their feet with certain kinds of 3-D games of course. The whole thing where thousands of people get positively green around the gills does appear to be some kind of exaggeration.
Nintendo has been unmoved by all this so far. They've been sharing with gamer magazines how games do always hold the ability to nauseate some people or even send people into epileptic seizures. If ever you would bother to read all the fine print that comes up before you start installing again, they do warn you about the epileptic seizures in such. As far as Nintendo is concerned, the 3DS, if anything, has been far less prone to any such attacks than previous gaming consoles. There have been no serious levels of returns.
If you think about it, Nintendo's the last 3-D gamer, the Virtual Boy, did get pulled off the market because it nauseated people so much. So maybe Nintendo wouldn't be the best people to ask. The thing is, 3-D games are no different to 3-D movies. If people aren't returning their 3-D flat screens in record numbers, there's no reason why they would return their new Nintendo DS videogame console. Why, checking out user reviews on the Internet, there are practically no negative reviews on any reputed websites like Amazon's.
Perhaps one's reaction to the new 3DS depends on one's physical makeup. Some people just happen to be inherently allergic to its effects. With other people, it just seems fine. Whether or not you find that it sickens may well depend on the kind of constitution you have.
