How to find the right internship programs?

Written by Admin. Posted in Education - Job and Employment Resources

One of the best ways to gain experience to help you land your first job is to go into internship programs. These offer you positions with leading companies so you can learn the basics of the career you are pursuing. For the most part, internship programs are non-paying, but some positions may earn you money. These are also often limited in time, and once the internship is over it is time for you to move on. Some colleges require you to complete internship programs before you can graduate, and they often help you find the right one for you.

Since the recession started about four years ago (has it been that long?), nearly every state in the country (more than 40 states, actually) has decided to take its budgetary cuts to its higher education programs. That's what the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities reports. But that is only the first round of money-saving cuts that they've thought of. The next time around, states are going to begin to truly take their higher education programs to the chopping block. They aren't just trimming budgets anymore. They are closing down departments, closing down entire colleges, refusing to admit students, and even cutting down on jobs for teachers. Even tenured teachers and professors.
